| Description | The focus of research of our group is on time-resolved spectroscopy of molecules and materials. We use lasers with very short pulses to create excited state populations and then follow their time evolution in order to understand the mechanism of processes that cause the deactivation of excited states. We also perform such experiments under the microscope. The data obtained is complex and requires dedicated codes to be written in order to be analyzed. So, we are looking for students with expertise in Python, to create these codes, taking inputs from Ph.D. students and postdoctoral fellows of the group. |

| Description | The EV battery market is project to be INR 5000 crores before 2030. There is an explosion (no pun intended) of battery pack makers in India, who buy Li-ion cells from China and make battery packs in India with BMS etc. To test such batteries whose numbers are already in the tens of millions in India, precision cyclers are needed with good software, etc. These are simple two-terminal devices that should do constant current (CC) and constant voltage (CV) programs to test batteries, in addition to just measuring the open circuit voltage of batteries. These as of date are all imported and expensive. The PI's lab has developed more complicated circuitry and boards for three-terminal electrochemical testers. The proposed project will involve circuit design, PCB fabrication testing and scale-up, followed by patents/licensing, etc |
